Mark was tipped off a couple of days ahead of time that "something" would be arriving and that he should be prepared to take pictures. So here I am opening the Fed Ex box and unfolding the quilt for the first time!
Here is the beautiful quilt in its entirety! I put it down on the floor so I could look at the card, and our cat Macska immediately took an interest! (She's headed straight for the fish!)
I was mesmerized as I read through the list of contributors. (Macska, on the other hand, was checking out how it felt to lie on the quilt in various positions!)
After chasing the cat away, I spent ages just marvelling over the magnitude of the gift, touching each and every square.
The square I was looking at on the back of the quilt is the one made by Asher indicating that the talented quiltmaster was Christina.
I will be keeping the quilt close at hand to show everyone I know what special friends I've got. I think the ultimate home for the quilt will be above our bed, as shown above. I hung it there temporarily to get a full-size photo, then suddenly realized what a perfect spot I had found.
